Praises Tabor College. Bishop Irving Johnson of Colorado, editor of The Witness, a national paper of the Episcopal church, recently published an interesting article concerning Tabor College and its president, Dr. Clayton. The following quotation is taken from his article:
"Tabor College is an institution in southwestern Iowa which, during the seventy years of its existence under Congregational auspices, has sent sixty missionaries into the foreign field. It is the only collegiate institution in the southwestern quarter of Iowa and has buildings worth more than a quarter of a million dollars. It seemed a tragedy to see Tabor college close its doors for lack of financial support, so I induced the Rev. F. W. Clayton, a priest of ours, to accept the presidency, which he did last August. He soon secured 125 students. He introduced a surpliced choir who render the service admirably. He took temporary charge of the large local Congregational church in order that the friends of the church might help the needs of the college. He has paid the overhead expenses up to April 1, without adding further to the indebtedness and he has assurances of more than 200 students for the coming year. Dr. Clayton has won the confidence of the entire board of trustees! , and respect of the community and the affection of the students".
