S.W.S. Rowe purchased the row of frame buildings just east of
Switzer's restaurant to the City Telephone office at the
southeast corner of the square, and is tearing them down for the
purpose of using the material in repairing other property of his
about town. These buildings have stood there for the past forty
years and were a decided hindrance to the upbuilding of that
locality. Mr. Rowe will now clear the way for someone to put up a
substantial business block.
