--Oscar M. Daugherty of Norwich married Blanche Edith Wilcoxson
of Farragut in the Park House parlors yesterday; T. J. Wilson, J.
P., officiating.
-- ANNOUCEMENT -- Rev. R. A. Omer will begin a series of meetings
at the Christian church in Thurman on Sunday morning next. Rev.
Omer is one of the most persuasive and powerful evangelists now
before the religious public. All who heard him during his
meetings in Sidney can testify to this fact. Nature has endowed
this brother with just the elements necessary for success in this
line of work -- logic, combined with a powerful voice and a
captivating manner of speech. Thurman church is fortunate in
securing his services at this time the first opening that has
occurred for some months, and probably the only one that would
occur in months to come, as the "Macedonian Cry" comes
oftener than he is able to give response. We trust that a great
work will be done in Thurman as a result of his labors. The
pastor, Rev. Geo. C. Hicks, will be present whenever possible to
render assistance.
