Huse N. Morgan's Comedy Company which he has just organized and
which has been giving a series of entertainments here this week,
is away up in artistic ability. There is not a stick in the
company, and the plays run along as smoothly as if the company
had been playing together for months. Huse has met a success this
time and the company should be a drawer wherever it plays. The
new scenery, painted expressly for this company, is good and the
stage properties are appropriate and well managed. Success to
Huse N. Morgan, Sidney's talented actor and his splendid company.
The Huse N. Morgan Comedy Company after closing here will play
CARSON on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the 4th, 5th and 6th of
September. Then to
RANDOLPH on the 7th, 8th and 9th. They will arrive in Randolph on
the evening train, which will give them time to arrange for their
performance. There, they will produce for the FIRST TIME their
celebrated comedy entitled "THE PHOENIX", also new and
original specialties by Mr. Gus Rapier, Sam Murdy, M. L.
DeForrest, Jennie Rapier, Little Tressie and others. A laughable
farce after each drama. We will add that this company has the
best cast of characters that has ever visited this place and
worthy of patronage wherever they give a performance.
- Mr. Murray was taken suddenly sick at the home of his sister
Mrs. Willie a few days ago, but is reported better this
morning.....
- Frank Martin is building a dwelling house, north of town and to
insure good work he employed Tompkins, the boss carpenter.....

Liberty Church near Brightside last Sunday....

of Thurman, Wednesday, Aug. 16, 1893, Mr. Jones E. Claiborn, Jr.,
and Miss Jessie A. Moore, Elder Wm. Leeka officiating.....
- Mr. J. F. Moyer, Shenandoah, was in town last week operating a
phonograph for the amusement of our people. His instrument did
good work. He gave an entertainment at the opera house, which was
highly appreciated....
