William Rose, Harry Rose, Wayne Mosher, Harry Gamble and Ted
Tyler, who enlisted last week in the artillery branch of the
United States Army, went to Fort Des Moines the first of the week
to be sworn in and to start their training.
J.H. Boehmier, president of the Franklin County Farm Bureau, and
Mrs. Boehmier, County Agent V.B. Hamilton and Mrs. Hamilton, Mr.
and Mrs. A.L. Savidge, Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Missildins, Mr. and Mrs.
Heike Rust and B.F. Howard are attending the annual convention of
the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation at Des Moines this week.
Lyle Beed, accompanied by his grandfather, J.A. Wirt, returned
home yesterday afternoon from Seattle, Washington. Mr. Wirt went
to Seattle last November, and Mr. Beed went to Seattle last week
to accompany him home.
