Injures Knee in Fall
Leo Griebenow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Griebenow, hurt his
knee last Wednesday in a fall and it required six stitches to
close the wound. The injured knee was also placed in a cast for a
few days to hasten the healing process. It is expected by the
attending physician tha the boy will have no ill after effects.
Leo was hurt several years ago and from this injury he never
fully recovered.
I Thank You One and All
I wish to express my thanks to all my friends who so kindly have
sent me gifts, letters and other messages of cheer during my
recent injury. All these have surely been a comfort and shortened
the hours considerably.
Leo Griebenow.
Moen-Johnson
The West Clermont Lutheran church was the scene of a pretty
wedding last Thursday evening, Nov. 26, following the
Thanksgiving service, when the vows were taken by Miss Hazel
Janet Moen and Arthur E. Johnson, before the pastor, Rev. G.
Gunsten, and many relatives and a number of friends. The single
ring ceremony was used. The church was decorated in green and
white streamers and plants.
As Ellen Bilden played Lohengren's wedding march the bridal
couple attended by Miss Florence Ellison of Fredericksburg, and
Merle Moen, the only brother of the bride, entered the church and
slowly advanced to the altar. Preceding the ceremony Thelma
Christianson sang, "O Promise Me.". The wedding gown
was of green crepe with a full length white tulle veil worn in
cap style. Completing her costume the bride wore white slippers.
She carried a shower bouquet of white roses. Miss Ellison wore a
peach colored taffeta frock with tan accessories. The groom and
his attendant were attired n dark suits. After the church service
a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents t a few
immediate relatives. The home was also decorated in green and
white and the wedding cake consisted of the same color scheme.
Mrs. Johnson is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Moen of
Clermont. She attended the Clermont high school and graduated
with the class of 1929. Since then she has spent most of her time
at home. She is well known in this community and is a young lady
possessing many good traits. Mr. Johnson is a son of Walter
Johnson of Cannon Falls, Minn., and is a graduate of the high
school of that place. He is employed by the Central States Power
Co. of West Union, a position which he has capably held for a
number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson moved on Monday to West
Union where the new home will be made. Congratulations to this
young couple.
A post-nuptial shower was held at the West Clermont Lutheran
church Saturday evening, Nov. 28, complimentary to Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Johnson. Over a hundred guests were present and the bride
and groom received many beautiful and useful gifts. At the close
of the evening refreshments were served.
