The many friends of Ray Krause in Oelwein will be pleased to hear
that he won his battle in Des Moines last night against Mickey
Dourne of Omaha. A crowed estimated at 6,000 was present at what
was one of the largest crowds to attend a boxing match in that
city. John Geary, E. Shaffer and James Cannon of this city
attended the battle.
H. V. Hoyer of the Oelwein Daily Register was named by
Gov. John Hammill as commissioner of labor.
New spring dresses, sizes 34 to 44 are selling for 79 cents at
the J. C. Penney store. Dresses for children are selling for 79c,
98c, and $1.49.
Mrs. R. B. Jamison had the misfortune to break her right arm when
the car she was cranking backfired.
