Franc Hedrick Accidently Killed
Mrs. L.G. Lehman has received a letter from relatives giving some
of the facts of the accidental death of Franc Hedrick and the
serious injuries received by his wife at Long Beach, California,
a week ago Sunday evening. It appears that Mr. and Mrs. Hedrick
were on their way to church when they were run down by an
automobile. Mr. Hedrick was killed almost instantly and his wife
sustained a fracture of the skull and a broken limb, together
with other injuries. She was taken to a hospital and it is
thought that there are only slight chances for her ultimate
recovery. Outside of these facts no other word has been received.
Before going to California, the Hedrick home was near Gunder and
he was reputed to be one of the wealthiest men of this section.
He was well known in Elgin and has many old time friends here who
will regret to learn of his death and the severe injuries
sustained by Mrs. Hedrick.
