The first immigrants from Germany to this town for a number of
years is the family of Carl Bank, of Hamburg, Germany. The family
is composed of Mr. and Mrs. Bank, two sons, Carl Jr.. and Rudolph
and two daughters, Frieda and Ella. Mrs. Bank Is a sister of Mrs.
Henry Fasher and the family is at the Fasher home now. They are
going to farm on the old Kamin place in Boardman township.Clayton
County Democrat.
George Durscher lost his left hand Monday forenoon, having to
have it amputated at the wrist joint after getting it mangled in
a corn shredder. George is nineteen years of age, and is the son
of J.J. Durscher, who lives west of Clermont. His brother John,
next older than George, lost his right hand a year and a half
ago, having it amputated just beelow the elbow after getting it
mangled in a gasoline engine. The two young men are their
father's helpers in running their large farm, so they will be
badly hindered in their farm work with each one lacking a hand.

family.
-Some of the young people enjoyed a party at the Gotfred
Frederick home Sunday nght.
-Mr. and Mrs. Will Lantz and baby Wilma were Sunday dinner guests
at the Martin Hanson home.
-Lucy Christen returned home last Friday afternoon from a four
week's visit with relatives at West Bend.
-Will Meyer of Maynord, came Friday for a visit with his mother,
Mrs. Fred Schlupp, and sister, Mrs. Martin Hanson.
