River News
The Mollie McPike arrived from below Thursday
night. She discharged here a large freight including 30 hhds and
170 cads of tobacco, 25 jars of snuff, 220 kegs of lead, 20 bbls
of crackers, and 100 other packages. She reshipped the balance of
her freight on the City of St. Paul, and turned back for St.
Louis. She took from here a car of wheat for Savanna.
From Capt. Buford, Superintendent of the Northern Line, we
obtain the following as the programme for the rest of the season:
the Sucker State will leave for St. Louis Sunday
evening. The Dubuque will follow her Monday evening or
Tuesday morning, the Davenport will return to St. Paul.
The Bill Henderson will leave for St. Louis Sunday
evening. The Little Giant is getting ready and will also
start shortly for the same destination.
