- Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Newell of Ames spent the weekend with the
latters sister, Mrs. A.H. Blum and Mrs. Francis Johnson.
- Miss Muriel Zenor of Terril and Miss Josephine Joynt of
Emmetsburg, Iowa, started for Santa Cruz, Calif, by auto Tuesday
morning. They expected to make the trip in ten days. Both the
girls being nurses, will have work in the hospitals all winter.
- A delightful shower was given in honor of Mrs. Iva Cook-Griffin
at the home of Mrs. Fred Cook Tuesday afternoon. The bride
graciously received the many gifts which were presented to her.
The room of honor was decorated harmoniously with flowers and
autumn leaves. Following the pleasant afternoon of visiting and
entertainment, a light lunch was served by the hostesses, Mrs.
Fred Cook, Mrs. Geo. Cook, Mrs. W.C. Edmunds, Mrs. Chas. Mauss
and Mrs. Henry Mauss.
- Geo. Riley of Sioux City is spending the week with his
daughter, Mrs. Ralph Van Hooser.
- Louisa Heerde who has been spending the week with her aunt,
Matilda Baedka, for the past week, returned home Saturday.
