Mr. Balthasar Dietz passed away at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Haller. He is mourned by his wife and four children, Daniel Dietz, of this city; Peter Dietz of Wever; William Dietz of New London; and Mrs. Fred Haller of this city. Mr. Dietz was born in Germany, March 15, 1828, and came to Burlington with his family in 1882. He had lived in Des Moines and Henry Counties every since. The funeral will take place Thursday, at 1 p.m. from the home of his daughter on Pearl Street, and from the First Baptist Church at 2 o'clock. Interment in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

CATHERINE DIETZ DEAD - WIFE OF THE LATE BALTHASAR DIETZ PASSES AWAY.
At 12:30 this morning Mrs. Catherine Dietz wife of the late Balthasar Dietz passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Haller. Deceased was born February 26th, seventy-nine years ago in the Fatherland. She is survived by four children. Daniel Dietz of this city, Peter Dietz of Wever, William Dietz of New London and Mrs. Fred Haller all of whom were at her bedside during the last moments of her earthly life. Death was due partly to old age, accompanied by a paralytic stroke and grief caused by the sudden death of her husband, who was borne to the grave Thursday afternoon. The funeral will be held from the German Baptist Church, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
