General News.
Fri. Dec. 8 - Jack McCann, who murdered Wild Bill in the Black Hills
last spring, was, on Thursday, found guilty of murder, at Yankton,
Dakota, and sentenced to be hung.
Sat. Dec. 9 - Benjamin F. Gue has been appointed pension agent at Des
Moines.
Wed. Dec. 13 - Large numbers of cattle are dying in Harrison county,
this state, from a disease called "black-leg".
Wed. Dec. 13 - On Thanksgiving evening Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Pierce of
Delaware township, Sac county, Iowa, started to attend a party. The
night was cold, and they were well wrapped in robes and blankets.
Upon their arrival at the party it was discovered that their little
babe, a bright boy about three months old, was dead, smothered.
