Malinda Headley, daughter of James and Sarah Headley, was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania,Sept 14,1842 and departed this life Jan.14,1925 at the age of 82 three mo. and14 days.She was united in marriage to David A Lemley also of Greene County , Pennsylvania Jan1,1865 and to this union were born (8) children six of whom are left to morn the loss of their kind and loving Mother. Two children died at infancy. the living children are James V. Lemley of Leon,Iowa,Sadie Debolt of Kellerton, Iowa, Ida Bassinger of Maloy. She is also survived by Johnny Lemley to whom she was a mother since he was two years of age,and one brother William H. Headley of West Jefferson, Ohio ten grand children,fourteen great-grand children,several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in girlhood and has never ceased to love and trust in her blessed Savior and rest upon His promises.

She moved to Iowa in October,1868 and settled in Benton Township Ringgold County,on the farmwhere she lived ever since. She had lived a widowed life since 1907, her husband having passed on to rest at that time.

She has been an invalid for more than a year and has been cared for by her daughters, Myrtle and Clara who did all that kind and loving hands could do to relieve her suffering. She bore her sickness with uncomplaining patience and was ready and willing to go when the time came.
