MRS. A.P. YORK
In the fullness of time, the pendulum will swing back. In swinging this time the pendulum swung out, and a dear mother has gone to her rest. Quietly as the morn merged into day, she closed her eyes only to open them in the glad new day, where all is bright and pain and sorrow are unknown. Sarah Catherine Rail was born December 28th, 1857 at Birmingham Iowa where she resided until she was married, with the exception of two years which she spent in NV, where she met her life companion, who preceeded her in death October 29, 1921. Mrs. York was the mother of nine children. four boys and five girls all living in Dallas County. When a girl she joined the Presbyterian Church, but transferred to the Methodist Church later and was a faithful member until her death. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Woman's Relief Corps and the Auxillary to the Yeomen. While she was content with life doing each day deeds that will long be remembered and revered by her family, she waited patiently for the "SUNSET", that she might be with him who was her life, her all. She passed this life May 7th 1923 at the home of her daughter, Cora, with whom she had been for the last few months. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church at Redfield conducted by the pastor and Rev. D.B.S. Prather, the former pastor of Mr. and Mrs. York. The children and other relatives were present to lay the mother beside the father Mr. A.P. York, with sympathy and love. There was a great abundance of most beautiful flowers. The children had used every means to show their great love and high regard for their mother. We were compelled to say good-bye to one of God's truly noble women.
