- Mrs. Mary R. WESTON has returned to Chicago.
- The R.N.A. Lodge will meet at 8 oclock hereafter.
- Our schools close on the 25th for a weeks vacation.
- Miss Loraine DAY will teach the school in the Trigg District.
- Mrs. DeLAPP of Burlington, came to the bedside of her son,
Clyde.
- Ben and John HAISLETT has gone south to look for land in
Florida.
- Mrs. Henry C. GESKE entertained the Deutcher Bund last evening.
- The Womans Toggery has a fine St. Patricks Day
display window.
- There will be no devotions at St. Marys church Friday
evening, Mar. 18th.
- Mrs. BROWN of Charles City, is visiting hr parents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. G. LAIRD.
- Miss Muriel SMITH is at home on a short vacation from school
teaching at the Giard.
The Deutscher Bund gave a surprise party for Mrs. Will KRAMER
last Friday evening.
- We have had balmy Spring weather so far in March, with the
mercury standing 16 to 25 at 8 a.m.
- A very pleasant surprise was given Mr. and Mrs. C.A. PEARSALL
at their home last Wednesday evening.
- The time to clear up is near at hand. Look after
your yards and alleys before the authorities give you notice.
- Mrs. F. D. HATCH is expected here to-day, from Fremont, Neb.
They will go to housekeeping in their cottage on Ash Ave.
- R. A. ESCHBAUGH was in town Tuesday, interviewing his customers
for Fairbanks engine. He makes his headquarters at Dubuque.
- Fred HEBERLEIN was out of doors and walked down street Tuesday,
the first time since his accident in the runway. He is still
pretty stiff.
- Our show case will in the near future display some Spring
novelties in framed pictures, just the thing to brighten up the
home. Peicks Studio
- Mrs. Will KRAMER his been enjoying a visit from her sister,
Mrs. John DeMOUND, of St. Joseph, Mo., and her sister in law,
Mrs. Raffauf of Chicago.
- The ice went out of the river at this point on Sunday, moving
down with no haste, doing no damage whatever. The channel is now
clear and soon the boats will be running.
- Those wishing Mr. PEICKs service in the Photo Line had
better call early. Mr. PEICK contemplates making an extensive
trip in the interest of his Art Line which will necessitate his
absence the coming Spring.
- Mr. Ed. LARSON received news Monday of the death of his father,
at Viroqua, Wis. He was eighty years old, Mr. LARSON and his
family left Tuesday for Viroqua to attend the funeral. We extend
our sympathy to them in their loss.
- J. K. GRAY went to Waukon on business yesterday.
- Miss Kate JACOBS returned yesterday from a visit with friends
at the Dubuque.
- Mrs. F.D. HATCH and Miss Ella MAHLUM arrived from Fremont, Neb
this morning.
