Nuptial Vows Uniting Charlene Parks, Vaughn Walton Solemnized - Single Ring Ceremony Performed by Rev. G. Serrill
A simple single ring ceremony was performed in the Church of Christ Sunday, April 16, at two o’clock uniting Miss Charlene Parks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Parks, south of Spencer and Mr. Vaughn Walton of Santa Maria, Calif. The Rev. G. D. Serrill officiated at the ceremony.

Serving as attendants for the couple were Miss Lucille Parks, sister of the bride, and Mr. Raymond Ollinger of Spencer, friend of the groom.

The bride chose an aqua blue street length suit and her accessories were navy blue and white accents.

Miss Parks’ attendant was dressed in a two-piece tailored navy blue suit and white accents.

Both the groom and his attendant wore dark blue business suits and white boutonnieres.

The bride received her education in the Spencer rural schools and the groom also attended the rural schools in Spencer and has since been engaged in farming.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlors with approximately 35 guests present at the event. The newlyweds received many lovely gifts and refreshments were served by Mrs. Parks, Miss Parks, and Mrs. P. J.. Flipsey, assisted by Mrs. Max Breese, of Spencer.

Fete Michael Tangney Here On Birthday - Party Held at School; Second Event Held in Hotel
In honor of his seventh birthday anniversary, Michael Tangney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tangney, was honored at two events Monday afternoon.

He had a class party Monday afternoon and those included were his school mates and teacher, Mrs. Alice Weaver.

After school a few friends were entertained at the Tangney Hotel by Mrs. Tangney. The guests played games and Michael received many lovely gifts. Refreshments were served in the private dining room of the hotel at one large table centered with a green and yellow decorated cake. Margaret Tangney, sister of the honoree, was also a guest at the event.
