MRS. W. E. INMAN ASKS FOR DIVORCE
Divorce on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment, such as to endanger her life, is asked by Bessie M. Inman in an action filed this week against her husband, William E. Inman, formerly Chief of Police in Spencer. Custody of her five year old daughter, Shirley, court costs and attorneys fees is asked by Mrs. Inman, no mention being made in the petition of alimony payments. The Inmans have one other child, Clarence, who is now married and living in Spencer. The couple was married in Jackson County, Minnesota, May 20, 1906, and moved to Clay county in 1907, where they have since resided. Both are well known locally.

Another action filed shortly before the News-Herald went to press was that of LeRoy A. Rader against William R. Higgins, asking judgment of $399.80 and interest, said to be due for legal services. In his petition Mr. Rader alleges that between December 10, 1925 and December 10, 1927, he rendered Mr. Higgins legal services at the latter’s request and mentions specifically that he drafted various instruments in writing, counseled and advised him, attended conferences, and interviewed certain persons at the defendant’s request, represented him in said councils and paid money out for the defendant at his request in the transaction of business services.

Both cases will come up for hearing at the October term of court, which begins October 14, with Judge Fred Lovrien, newly appointed successor to Judge D. F. Coyle of Humboldt, occupying the bench.
