Death of Mrs. H. L. Britton
Mrs. H. L. Britton, who had been seriously ill for some time,
passed away at the family residence in this city last Monday.
Mrs. Britton, whose maiden name was Annie G. Eade, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Eade, of this city, and is well
known to Spencer people. She was born at Elizabeth, Ill., Feb.
20, 1870, and came to Iowa with her parents in 1888, residing for
a time at various points and finally coming to Spencer. She was
united in marriage to H. L. Britton, January 1st, 1890. They were
blessed with three children, Hazel, Mable (sic--Mabel), and a son
who is yet a baby. Besides the three children, Mrs. Britton
leaves a husband, father and mother, and two brothers, Frank and
Sherman. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 3
o'clock from the house and was conducted by Rev. E. E. Evans.
Interment was had at Riverside cemetery.
