Death of Mrs. A. McKEEVER. Prominent Old Resident and Esteemed Lady Passed Away Wednesday.
Mrs. Iona McKEEVER, wife of our respected townsman, Captain A.M. McKEEVER died at her home in Osceola, Wednesday evening at eight o'clock. She had been in failing health for about 3 months, but for the past six weeks had turned for the worse and her friends began to be alarmed at her condition She appeared to be afflicted with a slow paralysis which day by day rendered her more and more helpless. She was about 73 years of age. Mrs. McKEEVER had resided in Clarke county about 50 years, and was the mother of ten children, eight of whom survive her. All her children, with her loved husband were at her bedside when death came. The children are Mrs. Dora ROBINSON, of Parkman, Wyoming, Miss Ella Lee, of Lamar, Colorado, Mrs. Anna WOLF, of Kansas City, John McKEEVER of Sisseton, South Dakota and C.H., F.S. and R.V. McKEEVER OF Clarke county, and Mrs. J.E. BARNARD, of Osceola. Besides these, her only brother and sister, Mr. D.A. SAWYER and Mrs. Mattie PHILIPS, of Unionville, Iowa were present at her last moments. Thus has passed one of the noblest and most highly esteemed women of Clarke county. She was widely known and universally loved wherever known. The sincerest sympathy goes out to the mourning husband and family in this their sad bereavement. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church.

Other Deaths.
-Word was received in Osceola this week of the death of Mrs. Elvira COON of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Mrs. COON was the eldest sister of Mr. I. WHALING, Mrs. McAULEY and Mrs. KROTZER of Osceola. She has lived to be within a month of 90 years of age.

-Reports came of the death of Mr. William HALL, a brother of Mrs. Asa TALBOTT, of this city, which occurred in Colorado Springs, Colorado lately. Mr. HALL was a merchant in Osceola, associated with his brother in business on the north side of the square about 36 years ago.

-The eight months old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. HARGREAVE died at the home of its gradparents Mr. and Mrs. Abe FORNEY, Nov. 29, 1907. The parents were visiting in Osceola, and the death came as a great shock to them. The funeral services were conducted from the home by Mr. PENNOCK, pastor of the Christian church.

-The funeral service over the remains of Mrs. Maria JOHNSON were held in the M.E. church at Osceola on Friday last, conducted by the former pastor, Rev. A.A. WALBURN, of Colfax, Iowa, assisted by Rev. DAVIS. There was a large attendence and a long concourse of friends followed the body to Maple Hill cemetery where it was laid to rest.

-The remains of Mrs. V.P. ROBERTS, who died in California last week were brought to Osceola, arriving here Sunday. Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at the residence of the deceased's brother, W.E. MORROW and were conducted by Rev. DAVIS. The body was laid to rest in Maple Hill cemetery.

-Sylvia HENDERSON and Carl W. TURK were married at the home of Jas. H. HENDERSON on December 1, 1907.
-Mr. Frank BRYANT and Miss Bessie PENISTON were married last Tuesday at the A.M.E. church. Mr. BRYANT conducts the Bus line of this city.
-Mr. Almond M??E? [illegible name], of Osceola and Miss Lottie HALTER, of Weldon, were married Nov. 21st in Clariton.

-Vera REYNOLDS has reentered 4th grade after an absence of two months.
-Foss DAVIS has been transferrer from the A 4th to the B 5th.

-Mrs. Pearl YATES, Grace & Goldie are visiting Will HARRIS of Des Moines.
-Ed WILSON & family of Des Moines are visiting his father Dr. WILSON & family.
-Ed LOCKWOOD has sold all his Leslie property. Mr. TOWNSEND got the dwelling house & barn, Mr. BIBEY go the store building and will keep the post office in it, also a meat market and restaurant. Leslie will have but one store after January 10.
-Mr. & Mrs. BIBEY had a daughter born Nov. 23 and it died Nov. 26th. It was laid to rest in the Decatur cemetery near their old home.

Hopeville.
-Mrs. Robert JOHNSON's and Mr. John REES's infants are very sick.
-Perry WHEELER has moved to the James BACKER farm.
-Mrs. BUNNEL of Ill. and Mrs. CLARK of Osceola are visiting here.

-Mrs. S.A. WEAKLAND was visited by her sisters Rachel DOUGHLAS of Chariton and Eva SELVAARIA & daughter Golda and son Richard of Lucas. They all visited with Mrs. WEAKLAND's daughter Mrs. Bert WOODS & family.
-Births: Mr. & Mrs. Perry BURRELL, an 8 lb. girl on Nov. 26th; Mr. & Mrs. John BURRELL of Lucas co., a boy on Nov. 28th; and Mr. & Mrs. George McLAUGHLIN, an 11 lb. girl on Nov. 29th.
-Alma MANLY closed her school at No. 1 last Friday.

-O.E. GARRETT has 300 bushels of hand picked Jeniton apples in his cellar. They sell for $1 a bushel.
-Faith EDGAR died at Scotts Bluffs, Nebr. She was born in this place 4 years ago and was a very bright child.
-Will DANIEL went to Chicago with two of the best loads of feeders he ever shipped out of Murray. He will exhibit them at the Fat Stock show, then sell them.
-Ralph BROWN visited his family here.
-Jess RIES & wife spent Thanksgiving with her family.
-A.B. MILLER visited his former home Lincoln, Ill.
-Perry ARMITAGE & family of Afton ate turkey with his brother's family, Dr. A.I. ARMITAGE. Perry is county attorney of Union county.
