Baptismal Service at Little Brown Church
Last Thursday at two o'clock, a gathering of happy people met at the "Little Brown Church in the Vale" by invitation of Mr. and Mrs. Will Topp of Joliet, Ill., to witness the christening of their little daughter, Willa
Lou. Rev. J.L. McCorison, Jr. officiated at the ceremony and Miss Millicent Howard of Elma, Iowa, and Al Pitcaithley acted as sponsors, and Ver Pendexter held the baptismal font. The little lady who received the baptism was just eight months old and her fond parents, who are at the head of the Hazel M. Cass Comedians, who were in Nashua all last week on their annual visit, awaited with happy anticipation the time when their little daughter might receive baptism at this famous little church. As a fitting close to the ceremony the song "The Little Brown Church" was sung by the assembly, with F. Paxton Shaffer of Lawler, presiding at the organ.

Immediately following this, the entire cast of the Cass company, and a few friends were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Topp at a delicious three course luncheon at La Shultz Inn, at Nashua's summer resort. Covers were laid for
twenty-four and the one long table was artistically decorated with garden flowers, as was also the mantel. At four-thirty the company dispersed, with the hope that the little Miss in whose honor the affair was given would grow to be an honor and a blessing to her parents, and that she might come back to this Little Brown Church when she is old enough to realize the significance of the ceremony and the historic nature of the church.

Those present at the christening and luncheon were: Katherine P. Shaffer, Frederick Shaffer, Kayel Shaffer, Ann F. Paxton Shaffer of Lawler; Mrs. F.E. Howard and son Wesley and daughter Millicent of Elma; Mrs. Walter Smith and daughter Juanita of Cresco; Miss Frances Hodson of Mellen, Wis.; Rev. and Mrs. J.L. McCorison, Mrs. G.E. Ellison, Mrs. Whipp-Schultz, Mrs. Polly Garland, Mrs. F.H. Ward, all of Nashua and the entire cast of the show troup, consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Topp and Willa Lou, Wm. Pendexter, Miss Vera Painter, Miss Lillian Painter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marcon, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Crawford, Joe Smith, Dee Maxwell, Al Pitcathley and Miss Joice Williams.
