In All Wars
Mrs. Harriett Moody Borlund, 79, of 406 First street southwest [Mason City], has had a blood relative in all but one of the wars of the United States starting with the revolution. Her maternal great-grandfather was Jeremiah Allen, cousin of Ethan Allen. In the war of 1812 her paternal great-grandfather, Joel Bixby, was in the armed forces. In the Civil war her father, Ephraim C. Moody was with the Union army. Her son, Claude A. Borland, was a first lieutenant in the Rainbow division in World War I. Now her great-grandson, Frank G. Wunder, Jr. of Minden, is a cadet with the army air corps.
