MARRIAGE LICENSES ISSUED TO COUPLES
Emmetsburg, Sept. 17 - Marvin Moffitt, 21, Osgood, and Laura
Fessler, 18, Cylinder; Jens C. Rasmussen, 22 and Melvina Sandvig,
21, both of Graettinger, have been issued marriage licenses.
F.H. JOYNT, M. CONNELLY SPEAK VOWS
Couple to Live Here After Trip to Chicago World's Fair
Miss Mildred Connelly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R.
Connelly, 510 Washington Avenue southwest, became the bride of
Francis H. Joynt, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. [sic - T.] P. Joynt of
Emmetsburg, Saturday morning at the St. Joseph rector. The Very
Rev. P.S. O'Connor performed the ceremony at 10 o'clock. Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Joynt, brother and sister-in-law of the bridegroom
attended the couple. Miss Connelly wore a dark green crepe gown
with a matching hat and accessories. Mrs. Joynt wore black satin
with a black hat and black accessories. Following the service, a
wedding breakfast was served at the Connelly home to the
immediate relatives and friends of the couple. The table
decorations were carried out in green and white. Later Mr. Joynt
and his bride left on a wedding trip to Chicago where they will
attend the World fair. On their return they will be at home at
104 Sixth street southwest. Mr. Joynt is employed as clerk in the
freight department of the Chicago Milwaukee railroad. The bride
is a graduate of the Mason City high school and Hamilton's
business college and for the past four years has been employed as
bookkeeper at the Lyons Laundry.

Seven in Palo Alto to Take College Studies for Pastors'
Training
Emmetsburg, Sept. 18 - Seven Emmetsburg and Palo Alto county
young men are entering religious classes this fall to study for
the ministry or priesthood. Winston Kerber of near Emmetsburg,
son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kerber, Merlyn Wegener, son of Robert
Wegener, William Hantleman, Jr., and Irwin Vaudt, son of August
Vaudt, all of Fairville, in Palo Alto county, are entering
Concordia college at St. Paul. Young Kerber is only 14. Ira
Allen, son of John Allen of Emmetsburg, will prepare for the
Methodist ministry. Richard Kinsella, son of Robert Kinsella
here, and Robert Joynt, son of David Joynt near Emmetsburg, have
entered Catholic seminaries. Joynt graduated last June from
Trinity college, Sioux City, where he was an outstanding athlete.
Kinsella graduated from the Emmetsburg high school in 1933.
