JOYNT TO BE TRINITY COACH
High School Mentor to Have Charge of College Athletics
SIOUX CITY, May 15 - Appointment of Donald A. Joynt as athletic
director at Trinity college has been announced by the Rev. Walter
C. Tredtin, who is in Sioux City to complete the transfer of the
college from the hands of the Franciscan Fathers to the Society
of St. Mary, of which he is a member. Joynt who is a high school
coach at Trinity at the present time will have general charge of
college athletics next fall when the new order takes over the
management. He will continue in his present capacity as high
school coach but will not coach the varsity teams. Joynt was
fullback on the undefeated Trinity football team of 1926. In 1927
and 1928, Joynt played on the St. Francis college team of
Loretto, Penn. His home town is Emmetsburg, Iowa.

47 AT EMMETSBURG
EMMETSBURG, May 23 - Emmetsburg high school will graduate a class
of 47 on the evening of May 28. Class day exercises were held at
the high school on the afternoon of May 22. The class sermon will
be at the Methodist church on the evening of May 25, the Rev. M.
L. Sunderlin delivering the talk. Graduation exercises will be at
the Iowa theater on the evening of May 28 with Charles E. Miller,
attorney of Albia, delivering the address on the subject of
"My Neighbor's Kids." Supt. R.W. Newell will present
the class and diplomas will be awarded by Dr. A.A. Theile,
president of the school board.
