The American Legion convention at Cedar Rapids this week was the
cause for bringing the Cherry Sisters to the fore once more. The
report says famed 35 years ago for their ability to dodge
vegetable bombardment, the sisters, now 70 years old or so, got
away with a midnight show without a single vegetable hitting the
boards, though it would be speaking mildly when it was said
pandimonium reigned supreme. Hog calling and cow bell ringing was
a feature, and your can well imagine just how noisy it was.
