Fairfield, July 1- One year in the Jefferson county jail and
payment of the costs of the case which amount to about $300 was
the sentence given today by Judge R.W. Smith of Centerville to
George Lamaur of Rome who last week drove his car over 1,400 feet
of newly paved road east of Lockridge while enroute to a
band concert in that city. Lamaur pleaded guilty before Judge
D.F. Spratt at a preliminary hearing and
signified a willingness to waive grand jury action. He is married
and has three small children, one of whom is about two weeks old.
