Fairfield- A grain of popped corn lodged in the lungs of the
13-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hickenbottom, of
Lockridge, causing her death last night after a week of
suffering. The child was playing with the other children of the
family who were popping corn. When she started to swallow the
corn she laughed and a big fluffy kernel lodged in the windpipe.
An operation the night before she died was futile.
