Chicago, March 15- There will be nine circuses on the road this
summer, it became known today when representative showmen of the
country met here to outline plans for the coming season. The war
hit the show business hard and six circuses have dropped out,
leaving Barnum and Ringling, just combined, Robinson, Hagenbeck,
Wallace, Sells-Floto, Barns, Robinson, Downe, Sparks and Geary.
Many performers called to war will be back in the arena. Showmen
attending the conference are optimistic over prospects for the
season
