State News in Brief
Des Moines - The Rainsbarger estate, valued at $70,000, has been
settled, but Frank and Nathan, the two brothers who were recently
released from state's prison, get nothing out of it. The will of
William Rainsbarger gave his widow a life estate and the property
at her death was to go to John and Fay. Other children contested
the will, but the lower court upheld it. The case was appealed
but a settlement was reached out of court and the appeal was
dismissed. Frank and Nathan Rainsbarger served twenty-eight years
of a life sentence. They were convicted of the murder of William
Johnson in Hardin county.
