Marathon News:
WILL HARTSHORN fell off a sod cutter and got a foot squeezed and
twisted.
ANDREW ANDERSON just finished the addition to his restaurant
building.
N.H.WHITE has a good supply of water in the new well at his barn.
E.R. STANGLUND has received a six horse power engine to run his
creamery.
FRANK BALL will teach in Swan Lake township, Pocahontas county,
this fall.
NATE HAWK of Pomeroy was here this week to visit with his
parents.
CLARENCE BALL, the city barber, made a trip to Fonda this week.
WILL COUCH of Rolfe visited with his brother-in-law ALBERT
THOMPSEN.
JOHN JONES erected a granary.
LAURA HUMPHRIES is teaching the school west of town.
ALFRED ANDERSON is building a home south of town.
MRS CHARLIE BENNETT departed for ILL. in answer to a telegram
announcing the death of her brother.
BENGT JOHNSON moved to the farm SW of town.
ANG JOHNSON occupies rooms over the funiture store.
Town school opened for spring term April 21.
Stone for the new foundation of the new brick bank building is
now on the ground.
The CHILSON home caught fire and timely discovery saved the
building and the whole west side of main street.
