The Late Mrs. Sultzer Was a Native of N.Y. - Followed Husband in Death Closely, Moingona
FUNERAL SERVICES ARE HELD AT FUNERAL HOME
Mrs. Harriet Sultzer Was Widow of Christian Sultzer and Came to This State in the Seventies.
Friday afternoon, November 18th, 1932, Funeral services were held in Boone fro the late Mrs. Harriet Sultzer, widow of the late Christian Sultzer of Moingona. The rites were at the Lawrence Funeral Home at 2 o’clock with Dr. Frank Bean of the First M. E. church in charge.

Mesdames John Shelley and James Nutt with Mrs. Andrew Leitch accompanying sang, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,” Whiter Than Snow,’ and “Rock of Ages.” The Pallbearers, all sons and grandsons of the deceased, were William, Alva and Clyde Sultzer, Charlie Scott, J. H. Haynes and Clarence Sultzer. Interment was in Linwood Park Cemetery, east.

NATIVE OF NEW YORK.
Harriet Miller was born August 15, 1850, at Jamestown, N. Y. She was a daughter of James and Hannah (Jacobs) Miller. She moved to Illinois with her parents, where she became acquainted with Christian Sultzer. They were united in marriage in Knoxville, Ill., in 1871. They moved to Kewanee, Ill., some time later and then came to Iowa.

Their home was in Page county, near Shenandoah, for many years. They spent a while in Nebraska and returned to Page county. Six years ago they came to Boone county to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Emma Hornbeck. Here, Mr. Sultzer died on September 30, 1932. The good wife followed soon, departing this life on November 16, 1932.

MOTHER OF 8 CHILDREN
Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Sultzer. Six of these are living: Mrs. Emma Hornbeck lives southwest of Boone, Iowa; Mrs. Hattie Shepard resides in Des Moines; Fred J. Sultzer makes his home in California; Alvie, Will and Clyde Sultzer live at Hastings, Neb.

Mrs. Sultzer became a Christian many years ago and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Shenandoah, Iowa, at the time of her death.

Miss Dorothy Olson of Jefferson, spent Friday in this city on a business trip.

Miss Sarah Erickson of Grand Junction, was a Boone business visitor Tuesday.

Mrs. J. W. Kane of No. 914 14th street was a Des Moines visitor Friday.

Earl Keeney of South Division street, has returned to Boone from a short business trip to Wisconsin.

Secretary Douglas Bragdon of the local Chamber of Commerce was a business visitor in Des Moines today.

Miss Harriett Anderson of Nevada, was among the out of town business visitors in this city within the past few days.

Miss Katharyn Nelson, of Nevada, returned home Friday late in the day after spending a few hours in this city on a business trip.

Miss Geraldine Kennedy has returned to her home in Des Moines after spending a couple of days visiting in this city and near here with friends.

Dr. and Mrs. R. E. Gunn and daughter, Miss Edith of No. 293 W. Third street, spent Thanksgiving in Seymour, Ia., attending a family reunion at the former’s relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Mort Goodwin of Marengo, Ia, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Banforth, of Yankton, S. D., were Thanksgiving guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Means of No. 104 Tama street.

Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Peterson and daughters, Misses Marjory and Marcia of No. 922 Union street, another daughter, Miss Elizabeth Peterson of Fort Dodge, and son, Edward Peterson of Des Moines spent Thanksgiving near Ogden, guests in the George Zunkio home.
