Wills Doctor Books to Iowa University
Iowa City, Ia. Oct 13 -- Four hundred volumes collected during
Dr. George Darnall's 58 years of medical practice in West Union,
have been willed to the University of Iowa college of medicine,
it was announced today. Included among the volumes is a book on
surgery printed in 1805. Geological specimens collected by Dr.
Darnall were given to the university department of geology, his
surgical set going to the state historical society.
Auto Kills Child.
Mason City, Ia. Oct 13 -- Hattie Louise Hudson, 4, Clear lake,
died in a local hospital from injuries suffered when an
automobile ran over her in the yard of her farm home.
Falls to Death.
Dubuque, Ia. Oct 13 -- Gloria Letsus, 2, was killed when she fell
from a third floor window of her home here as she attempted to
catch a toy balloon released by playmates below.
