MRS. SADIE JANET RICE
Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie Janet Rice, 43, wife of H. N. Rice, 619 Ankeny Street, who died yesterday at Allen Memorial hospital after an operation, will be in First Congregational church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Rev. J. Richmond Morgan will officiate and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Rice are the husband; a daughter, Ivandell, 13 years old; her father, A. C. Cherrier, Prairie Du Chien, Wis.; a brother, Morton H. Cherrier, La Crosse, Wis.; and two sisters, Mrs. W. D. Parich, Jerseyville, Ill. And Mrs. B. G. Colvin, 1242 Dundee street,Waterloo.
JACOB A. BROOKS
Funeral services for Jacob A. Brooks, who died early yesterday at the Illinois Central hospital in Chicago, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in First Presbyterian church. Rev. J. R. McCartney will officiate and the Masonic order will conduct rites. Burial will be in Fairview.
Mr. Brooks was born in Waterloo June 24, 1882. He was married Jan. 28, 1903, at Albert Lea, Minn. to Miss Sophia Jellum of that city who survives. Surviving besides the widow, are his mother, Mrs. F. M. Brooks, Westgate, Ia., five brothers and two sisters, as follows: H. Boise Brooks, Waterloo; F. M., Clarion, Ia.; Frank Carrigan, N. D.; James and Mrs. Dale Helm, Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Charles Volbruck, Westgate. The body arrived from Chicago at 1:30 a.m. today and was taken to the O’Keefe & Towne Funeral home. Members of the Eastern Star will meet at Masonic temple at 2:45 p.m. tomorrow to attend the funeral.
