The front page included the following three reports:
-The activities which comprised the recent Decoration Day celebration
-The graduation from Exira High School of the three graduating seniors who comprised the entire graduating class
-The defeat of the Exira town baseball team by the Brayton town team.

Oakfield-Brayton column.
Everybody is busy picking and canning strawberries. They will taste fine next winter.

The young ladies of our church will give a strawberry, ice cream, and cake social on the church lawn next Friday evening. They are preparing for a large crowd. Everybody and his wife come and bring the family to the church.

Page 4 had a report of the awarding of diplomas to the 48 rural students in the county who graduated from the eighth grade in 1909.

Page 6 had a full page advertisement of the events planned for the forthcoming Fourth of July celebration in Exira. Included events were:
-A team of 'aeronauts' named "The Flying Quinetts" were to perform trapeze work from a hot air balloon and make a parachute drop 'from a dizzying height'.
-A double header baseball game was to be played between town teams from Atlantic and Exira.
-A band concert was to be given by the Exira Concert Band.
-An oration was to be given by a lawyer from Des Moines.
