Oakfield-Brayton.
A large crowd enjoyed themselves at the river Sunday. A goodly number of fish sacrificed their lives to the sport.

The front page reported on the July 4th celebration in Exira. The 'aeronauts' did not perform because they could not reach Exira due to a bridge washing out on the railroad they were coming to town on. The Atlantic baseball team won both ends of the doubleheader baseball contest.

Oakfield-Brayton column.
A big picnic is to be held next Sunday by the Oak Hill congregation just south of Oakfield. Rev. JORGENSEN will give an address during the forenoon after which a picnic dinner will be served.

The front page reported on another severe and very large hail storm that had recently struck the circulation area of the paper. The area damaged by this storm varied in width from 1 to 3 miles, and extended for a length of 20 miles according to this report.

Oakfield-Brayton column.
-140 tickets were sold from Brayton to the Barnum & Bailey show in Atlantic last Wednesday.
-Dr. KOOB went to Atlantic last Sunday in their auto to attend the Dr. EMMERT funeral. While there the terrific storm came up and they were compelled to return by rail. The Dr. went down after the auto the following day.
-The Danish Lutheran Church gave a picnic in the Carl DAHL timber Sunday. A large crowd was present, young and old. Several autos full got caught in the rain but managed to make it home alrignt. It was to have lasted all day, but owing to the weather adjourned early. Ice cream and cold drinks were enjoyed.
