Oakfield-Brayton column.
The passenger coach on the train serving Brayton was damaged in the Atlantic switching yard and .....was temporarily replaced while being repaired with an older coach, having ...only one coal stove. The cry of the passengers Tuesday all day long was 'How long must this continue?'. The brakeman tried to keep the car warm but couldn't.
The last page of this edition contained a full two column report on the first meeting of shareholders of the Atlantic Northern & Southern Railroad. It also included an abbreviated history of the company from its organization on December 19, 1906 to the completion of track laying on January 19, 1908 and the first shipment of livestock from Elk Horn and Kimballton on January 25, 1908 and January 28, 1908 respectively. A list of stockholders was also included.

Nis LARSEN closed his ice house Monday with the building filled to the eaves with nice clear blocks of ice.
The last page of this issue devoted a full column to the latest news from the Atlantic Northern & Southern Railroad. The railroad was averaging 10-12 cars per day of livestock being shipped over it and all contracts for construction of depots except for the one in Atlantic had been signed.
