--The front page had a full column article re-printed from the Atlantic paper reporting on the financial status and on the construction progress of the Atlantic Northern & Southern Railroad. The financial picture had improved recently because of the willingness of most persons who had subscribed for stock to pay accelerated calls on their subscriptions.
--Page 5 carried a notice from the Iowa State Auditor that the organizers of the Kimballton Danish Savings Bank had complied with all legal requirements and were therefore authorized to commence business pursuant to the terms and conditions set out in their Articles of Incorporation.

The front page printed the text of a contract recently entered into by and between the Atlantic Northern & Southern Railroad and the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railway going to the sharing of tariff income for rail shipments that utilized both lines to get to their destinations.
