The paper reported on the death of a local resident, Nels J. BOOSE, who died on a trip to Denmark and was buried there. The Brayton community took up a collection to erect a monument to him at his Denmark gravesite. Contributions ranged from twenty five cents to three dollars. Contributors and the amounts of their respective contributions were shown.

Sharon and Clay townships each passed, by a substantial margin, a proposed tax to assist in the construction of the Atlantic Northern and Southern Railroad to be built between Atlantic and Kimballton; after many of the voters had already subscribed for common stock in the newly organized company.
(Submitter's note: Sharon Township is in Audubon County, and Kimballton is located there. Clay township is in Shelby county, and I assume Elk Horn is located in Clay township.)

(Submitter's note: and a son of the man that died in Denmark?)
