... a petition of Elk Horn people addressed to the people of Atlantic urging them to vote in favor of selling their municipal power plant to the proposed electric railroad.
(Submitter's note: This proposed railroad apparently never came to fruition. Although there are several subsequent reports in the paper about organizational activity, I never saw a subsequent report in the paper about the outcome of the election in Atlantic or of the electric railroad being built. Instead, an ordinary steam locomotive driven railroad between Atlantic and Elk Horn was built in the years 1907 and 1908. It was known as the Atlantic Northern and Southern, and it operated from 1908 to early 1936.)
