An election held April 14, 1899 on the question of whether or not to incorporate the village of Brayton was decided in the affirmative by a vote of 23 to 12. The election of the town officers (a mayor, a clerk, a treasurer, and 6 councilmen) was scheduled for 5/2/1899. The report on this political event concluded with this statement:
"...Dr. KOOB seems to be the people's choice for mayor. The doctor is well qualified for the position, is a man of good judgment, and will prove himself a splendid official..."

Brayton-Oakfield.

Dr. KOOB was in Atlantic Monday as an expert witness in a lawsuit. He was detained until it was too late to catch the evening train home and as a result wheeled it up on a bicycle.
(Submitters note: This was a bike ride of 14 miles.)
