The marriage of Harold HEIN, son of Mrs. George HEIN of Postville, and Mrs. Delphina MITCHELL of Postville was soleminized Friday morning by the Rev. F.W. FRITCHEL in the parsonage at St. John's Lutheran church at Charles City. Atendants at the ceremony were the bride's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harry KUTHE of Monona. Mr. and Mrs. HEIN and Mr. and Mrs. KUTHE left Charles City immediately following the ceremony and spent Saturday and Sunday in Minneapolis, Minn. The newlyweds returned to Postville, Sunday evening and will make their home here. Mr. HEIN is a graduate of Postville High School with the class of 1930 and he attended Iowa State College at Ames. His bride is also well known in Postville, where she has lived many years.

Sixteen members of the American Legion Auxiliary and five guests met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Emma LIVINGOOD. The first message of the newly elected department president, Mrs. Harlan BRIGGS, was read by Mrs. John BURROW. Reports of the state convention, which was held in Dubuque, were given by Mrs. Ed. F. SCHROEDER and Mrs. A. KNEELAND. Mrs. Victor WILLIAMS, county chairman, gave a report on the meeting of the county presidents of the fourth district.

The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Will ALBRIGHT was observed Sunday at their farm four miles north of Castalia. A dinner was served at noon to the friends and relatives who had been invited to the ALBRIGHT farm for the occasion. Mr. ALBRIGHT was born in chattam, Canada, June 15, 1863, and at the age of two years was brought to Iowa by his parents. He has been located in this vicinity ever since. The bride of 50 years ago was Mary (Mollie) ALLEN, who was born on a farm near Ossian on may 10, 1869. She has also lived in the vicinity of Ossian and Castalia all of her life. They were married September 3, 1890, at Castalia by the Rev. SHELL and spent the first four years of their married life near Nordness, where Mr. ALBRIGHT was employed in a creamery. At that time they took up farming and until 30 years ago they continued at that occupation. Mr. and Mrs. ALBRIGHT retired from the farm in 1910, moving to Castalia. Last April they again decided to go back to their farm where they are now located. During their entire married life they have lived in Winneshiek county. Our-of-town guests who were present at the celebration included the following: Mrs. Carrie SHAFFER and Mrs. Florence GARRISON of Fayette. Mr. and Mrs. Earl BIRDSELL, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd BIRDSELL and family and Mr. and Mrs. Art COULTAS and family of Oelwein. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph SWEENEY and family and Mr. and Mrs. Donald BIRDSELL and family of Waukon. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer SCHULTZ and family of Postville, Mr. and Mrs. F.J. SCHMITZ and Mary Lou and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip SCHMITZ and son of Ossian.

High school and grade school students returned to the classroom this week and within the coming days, college students will return to their studies. Ten members of the 1940 Postville graduating class are definitely planning to attend college and two are undecided. Duane SCHOREDER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. F. SCHROEDER, will leave September 8th for Carthage, Ill, where he will enroll at Carthage College. Harry OLSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole E. OLSON, will attend Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. Helen SANDER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl C. SANDER, leaves today for Dubuque, where she will attend the University of Dubuque. Paul SCHUTTE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis SCHUTTE, will leave on September 15, for Cedar Rapids to enter Coe College. Gates WILLIAMS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor WILLIAMS, will go to Ames on September 19, to enter Iowa State College. Dorothy SCHULTZ, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luver C. SCHULTZ, will go to Luther College at Decorah. Bernice OLDAG, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed OLDAG, has been attending A.I.B. at Des Moines. Harold MARION, son of Mr. and mrs. Emil MARION, now of New Hampton, plans on attneding Loras College at Dubuque. James GUNDERSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry GUNDERSON of Maynard, will enroll at Upper Iowa University at Fayette. Violet SCHOREDER, daughter of mr. and Mrs. John A. SCHROEDER, will leave September 15 to enroll at Coe College in Cedar Rapids. Six students from this vicinity will enter Iowa State Cllege at Ames for their sophomore years. They are Louis HILL Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis L. HILL; Dennis LAMMERT, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed LAMMERT; Donald VOELKER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed VOELKER [remainder cut off]

Mrs. Gunda MARTINDALE entertained the following people Sunday at a dinner complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Burr COOK, the occasion being their sixth wedding anniversary [remainder cut off]
