D.A. Holmes had a close call for his life last Friday, says the Lansing
Journal. He was at work in his garage replacing a broken
spring in his Overland Six, and instead of using a jackscrew had
the car blocked up. When about half through with the job and
while lying on his back underneath the car, the blocking slipped
and let the weight of one side down on his chest. But for his son
Cornelius being in close proximity and seeing his dilemma his
life would doubtless have been crushed out. By herculean efforts
Conny raised the car so his father could extricate himself.
