U.S. NEEDS MORE OIL
Petroleum has become an ever increasing factor in the economy of
the nation. For hears we have largely supplied the work with oil
as well as being by far the world's largest consumer of petroleum
and its products. In 1939 we produced 1,260,000,000 barrels of
crude oil, or 61 per cent of the world production. During the war
our production rose to 1,700,000,000 barrels.
