NEW ALBIN NEWS
- Roadmaster John Latronch of Madison, Wisc., spent Easter here
with his family.
- Henry Rippe and daughter, Miss Marion, have gone to Omaha,
where they will visit relatives.
- Conductor Walter Hartley of Dubuque spent Wednesday at the home
of his mother in this city.
- Jordan Bros. have returned to Tomah, Wisc., to complete the big
road contract they have there.
- Rank Travis and Mr. and Mrs. Hale returned Wednesday from
California where they spent the winter.
- Howard Heath, who attends the State University at Minneapolis,
spent the Easter vacation here with his uncle, C.J. Travis.
- Rev. W. Smith and wife have returned to their home at Geneva,
Iowa, after attending the funeral here of the latter's
grandmother.
- William Larkin spent the week-end with his wife and son in this
city, coming from Dubuque, where he has accepted a good position.
He contemplates moving his family there in the near future.
- The death of Charles Bellows, on of New Albin's pioneer
citizens and a veteran of the civil war, occurred Wednesday,
March 31, 1920. He was 77 years of age and had resided in the
county since 1852. He is survived by his widow, three sons and
three daughters.
- The remains of Patrick Callahan, who died at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. H.F. Ayer at Dubuque, were brought here Wednesday
last and laid to rest in St. Joseph's cemetery.
