It's getting so that people without an automobile are considered uncultured and "nobodys".

Albert ZIEMAN has purchased the Jimmie FISHER house for $750.

A large new barn is being built on the Dr. KIESAU farm near Frankville.

Harvey DOUGLASS has bought the Hugh SHEPHERD home on Lawler street for $550.

The C.F. RADLOFF family has moved here from Luana, occupying the house they recently purchased.

Florence and Ora WARD have been given contracts to teach in the Florence, Colo., schools next year.

Horace WELLS was at Oelwein Tuesday to see Jess WILLARD, the heavy-weight boxing champion of the world, who appeared in the Shop City with the 101 Ranch Circus.

Orville SCHULTZ, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. SCHULTZ, has been awarded a $600 scholarship to the New Jersey agricultural college at Rutgers, N.Y. Orville will graduate from Ames next month.

The various lodges in which Mr. and Mrs. Hugh SHEPHERD hold membership have given this couple farewell parties this week. The SHEPHERDS will leave soon to make their home in California.

Mr. and Mrs. John LEITHOLD, former local residents, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in Woodland, Calif., June 5, after which Miss Chrystal LEITHOLD will retun to Postville to continue the piano store.

A meeting to discuss the future of the Postville public library will be held at the schoolhouse Monday evening witht he following taking part in the program:
