Two million tramps are now running about the country.
The Ryan and McCabe horses of Jefferson will race at the Fair
ground Saturday for $50 side bet and half the gate receipts.
There will also be a bicycle race between Beeman of Waukon, Figge
of Ossian and Haskell of Decorah.
Charles Goettle of Lansing township, a pioneer resident, died
Oct. 6, of cancer of the stomach, and was buried at Mays Prairie.
Deceased was a man universally esteemed.
