Several cases of lung fever have been reported at Hardin. A daughter of Fritz SANDERS, Loren BUTTOLPH and Victor PEARSON, also a son of Geo. PEARSON, are afflicted. All improving but Chester PEARSON who is still in a precarious condition.

Miss Kate PEARSON, who has been attending school at Minneapolis, came home Monday to assist in caring for her brother, Chester.

Wm. WARNER and family were entertained at dinner Thursday at Rev. BARNES'.

Etha SELLEG came Friday from Clear Lake, where she has been employed the past winter.

Esther WALTER, Maggie and Amelia OVERBECK were with friends and relatives at Monona Saturday evening.

Mrs. Jennie Eno HOEKING, of Sheffield, Iowa, is spending a few weeks with Mrs. Wm ENO and her sister, Mrs. Geo. DAUBENBERGER.

Mr. and Mrs. D.B. CLAIR and granddaughter, of Garnavillo, visited a few hours Sunday with their daughters, Mrs. J. KRAMER and Miss Mable CLAIR.

Miss Mattie STOCKER, of Ceres, Iowa, surprised her aunt, Mrs. L.L. Von BERG Monday. She is preparing to attend school at Valparaiso, Ind. soon, consequently her visit was short.

Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Von BERG left Monday for McGregor, where they will take a boat for St. Louis, Mo., to be absent about a week.

Estella NICHOLS left Thursday for Algona, Iowa, to be present at the state Teachers' Association. She will be absent about two weeks, spending the remainder of her time with her brother Elbert, living near there.

The town was alive with teams Tuesday afternoon. They had come to carry away several carloads of lumber for the immense barn of G.H. MARTING, living several miles to the south of town.

Mrs. Ada WARREN returned Saturday to her home in Waterloo, after spending two weeks with the famly of Rev. BARNES and friends at Elkader. The Misses BARNES accompanied her as far as Postville, returning on the evening train.
