Old Mrs. NICHOLS, of Luana, and old lady FINNEY of Fayette are visiting with the J.H. SANDERS family.

The COURSON family reunion was a pleasant affair, as it always is. All the family were present except A.W. COURSON and family who reside in Lincoln, Nebr.

Mrs. Will HARRIS and Herman were at St. Paul a few days as guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. BURDICK.

Arthur WEBSTER, son of W.S. WEBSTER broke his arm falling from a tree on the school grounds.

A sister of Mrs. G.W. PEARSON, of Hardin, came down from St. Paul on Thursday evening for a visit.

MARRIED.
John R. BAYLESS, of the firm of Bayless Bros., Waukon, and Miss Gussie VanPELT were married on Wednesday evening.

AT REST TOGETHER.
Possibly never before were the sympathies of Castalia and neighboring communities so deeply and so generally stirred as the the untimely death by drowning, at Clermont, on the 11th, of Burton SHROYER and Florence MORRISON. These promising young people were universally respected and commended. Their funeral was held together from the U.B. church, at Castalia and side by side they were laid to rest in the cemetery near by, on the afternoon of Saturday, the 13th.

Burton SHROYER was born in Winneshiek co. near Castalia, May 30, 1875 and died Aug. 11, 1892, aged 17 years, 2 months and 12 days.

Florence MORRISON was born in Ohio, April 6th, 1878, where she spent the first five years of her life.

DEATHS.

The remains of Jas. STEPHENSON were brought here from Mt. Vernon for interment last Tuesday. He was one of the early settlers of Postville though he has not resided here for 19 years. He was 81 last April.

J.N. LEITHOLD received the sad intelligence of the death of his youngest son, George, in California. The cause of death was given as asphyxiation from gas. He was buried in Woodland, Cal., on Wednesday.

At the residence of his daughter, Mrs. H.J. SCHULTZ, in Postville, on Friday, Aug 19th, 1892, John FRIDAY, aged a little over 68 years. He leaves 3 sons and a daughter.

We regret to learn of the death of our old friend of 35 years standing, Julius F. WEBSTER, of Cresco.
