DIED.
At her home in Post twp., Oct 10th, 1891, from injuries received in a runaway, Mrs. Caroline CHRISTOPHERSON, wife of Hans CHRISTOPHERSON, aged 47 years and 4 months. Her remains were deposited in the Postville cemetery.

J.K. PHILLIPS breathed his last on Sunday and was buried on Wednesday. He had been a resident of Postville for many years, having been our only barber for some 12 or 15 years.

Our old friend J.W. PATTERSON sends us an ear of corn from the Sioux City corn palace by Mrs. E.D. STILES, who has been visiting him and the corn palace. She reports a splendid time, and that her father, Mr. PATTERSON is doing fine.

WAUKON ITEMS.
Dr. A.T. STILLMAN was called to Postville on professional business. He is an expert workman.

H.J. BENTLEY has recently opened a variety store.

H.F. OPFER just purchased 1500 acres of wild land in Winnebago and Kossuth counties for himself and other parties living in Ludlow twp.

Michael BUGGY is building an addition to his wagon factory.

Geo. C. MADARY and Miss Edna B. PETTIT were married Tuesday.
