The commencement exercises will be held at the M.E. church, as
usual, on Monday June 23rd. The following are graduates this
year: Anna MICKELSON, Bessie WARNER, Olive ORR, Myrtle BLANCHARD,
Sarah STAFFORD, Lois TUTTLE, Laura CAMERON, Estelle ROBERTS,
George LEITHOLD, Ralph PRESCOTT and Ross FINNEY.

E.& J. SWENSON have bought 171 acres of the old SIZER place
of Aultman, Taylor & Co. David SMITH gets 80 acres or the
rest of the place. They pay $10 per acre all through.
Clark Van HOOSER, well known to all old settlers through this
country was buried at Spencer last Monday. He died at the home of
his son Charles.
N.C. BULLOCK has sold his farm west of town to Mr. SCHUTTE, a
brother of the gentleman who has the contract for building the
German Lutheran church. The price paid was $50.00 per acre.
Drowned
Welton - Everette D. Welton, son of D.T. Welton of Wagner
township, Clayton county, Iowa drowned while attempting to ford
Robert's creek near Walters Mill on June 20, 1890. He was born in
New Haven, Connecticut on October 5, 1851 and came to Iowa in
186? where he had since resided with his parents.
